Can't hurt me: Goggins is a superhuman! Book Review

★★★★★

There are many books on great people and their journeys and even many books on self-transformation and all but this book and this man stands out from the rest. David Goggins is a superhuman and I guess this is the only way to describe him.

"The ticket to victory often comes down to bringing your very best when you feel your worst."

This book is so simple, it's about a guy transforming himself and becoming great but the journey of him becoming a legend from a useless kid that got his ass beaten for literally no reason is what makes this book interesting. And another thing about the book is it's just pure badass. You may have read many stories of successful personalities but most of them had some talent right from childhood, something they're good at and they just shaped that out more and became successful but that's what separates Goggins and his journey from the rest.

"No, I had to own it in the raw because the only way we can change is to be real with ourselves. If you don’t know shit and have never taken school seriously, then say, “I’m dumb!” Tell yourself that you need to get your ass to work because you’re falling behind in life!"

Goggins was a below-average kid in almost every aspect one can think of. He couldn't properly read or write, he got his ass beaten by his evil father almost every day and he was just lazy and loser af to do any kind of hard work. But from there he became a guy that can run 200 miles in one go. His journey involves transforming himself from a complete loser to an ultramarathon runner, ultra-distance cyclist, triathlete, motivational speaker, and author by doing only one thing that is pushing himself beyond the limits one can imagine.

"The bottom line is that life is one big mind game. The only person you are playing against is yourself. Stick with this process and soon what you thought was impossible will be something you do every fucking day of your life."

But again what makes this book great apart from Goggins insane crazy journey is that this book is not about himself or his accomplishments or the man he is today. This book is about YOU. It's about the readers' potential. It's about all of our ability to transcend false boundaries, push ourselves beyond our limits, and achieve greatness.

“It’s on you,” I said. “Yeah, I know shit is fucked up. I know what you’ve been through. I was there, bitch! Merry fucking Christmas. Nobody is coming to save your ass! Not your mommy, not Wilmoth. Nobody! It’s up to you!”

And words like "taking souls", "cookie jar" and "merry fucking Christmas" make the book feel less like a self-help book, and more like a conversation with an amazing friend here to help you get your ass in gear. This book is the prime example to look or show whenever anyone is feeling low or they can't do something. After reading David Goggins story all the excuses you tell yourself won't stand at all coz no matter how fucked up the situation is you're surely in a better position than David ever was when he started which tells us only one thing how bad we want something? and if we want it insanely bad then we can get it, period and David Goggins is the living proof.

"Because it’s the small sparks, which start small fires, that eventually build enough heat to burn the whole fucking forest down."

This book should be a mandatory read in schools.
